My first time to eat Galette!

Hello!
How are you doing?
Did you enjoy your winter vacation?

Today, I'd like to write about my restaurant review. :-)

On December 23rd, I and Akane visited La Fee Delice, the French galette restaurant. This restaurant is located in Harajuku, so the atmosphere surrounding the restaurant is very fashionable.  The building of the restaurant is not big and looks like European building. The restaurant is quiet place inside a main street of Harajuku, so the atmosphere is very nice.

La Fee Delice is a specialist restaurant in galette. There are various galette and also crepe included for meals and desserts. We can order some dishes: salads, a quiche and soup, too. There are a variety of beverages: coffee, tea, juice and alcohols.

I ordered the simplest galette, called “la complete,” which wrapped ham, cheese and a fried egg inside. The galette was very big than what I imagined and the edge of it was crisp and the inside of it was springy.  The smell of buckwheat reminded and it made the galette itself more flavored.

After we ate the galette, we ordered a crepe with homemade caramel sauce and a banana as a dessert. An ice cream was also put on the crepe. Crepe dough was springy and caramel sauce was sweet and a little bitter, so crepe and caramel sauce went well very much and an ice cream and a banana made it sweeter.

I would like to recommend a person who likes galette because this restaurant has variety type of galette and we can choose a garnish that we like. Of course, someone who has never tried the galette may enjoy eating.

Genre Analysis

Happy New Year!!

I'm sorry not to post a blog for a long time.

The genre analysis of written review that I was given is "Review: Capone's in Alameda struggles to live up to swanky theme."

What is the writing style of the review?
I felt the writing style is using flowery language and many adjectives. It made me feel difficult to read, but it also helped me to imagine that atmosphere and food of the restaurant easily.

What additional information can you find out about the restaurant from its Website?
The review is mainly about food that were served to the writer, but it was described about dress code, too. Capone's Speakeasy is a bar, so there are some rules, for example, "Thursday through Saturday nights, there's a dress code: No baseball cap, shorts, shirts without collars, sneakers, sandals or baggy pants."

The genre analysis of video review is "Sammy's Cafe In-Restaurant Review."

What is focused on in the review?
This review focuses on the interview with the owner and eating then telling the reviewer's feelings.
He says what he thinks about the food (a hamburger in this video) mainly, sometimes has a pleasant talk with the restaurant's owner and asks him about the restaurant.

Notice whether the voices of the speakers are monotonous or have a pleasing emphasis on certain (key) words and phrase. How does that affect your understanding and enjoyment of it?
He emphasizes his comments about the food he just ate. Especially, he uses frequently "very, very" and many expressions of praise. His eating reporting is very tense and joyful, sometimes overreacted. It made me want to eat the food.
